In Uttar Pradesh, Kisan Sangharsh Samiti called a meeting of its office bearers in Aligarh to consider its next course of action in the light of the State Government`s announcement of new policy for land acquisition and rehabilitation. Earlier, in the back drop of continuing agitation of farmers, the Government had decided that if the farmers did not want township, it will not be set up at Tappal in Aligarh. Leader of the Samiti Manveer Singh Tevatia has said farmers would considers all pros and cons of the Government decision. On the other hand National General Secretary and Spokesperson of Bharatiya Kisan Union Rakesh Tikait refuted the claims of the state government for adopting Haryana pattern of Compensation to the farmers. He said compensation rates are very low in the state in the comparison of Haryana.
