The Allahabad High Court has declared as ultra vires the guidelines framed by the UP Higher Education Commission for appointment of teachers on various posts in aided degree colleges. The decision by a full Bench of the court will adversely affect more than 400 teachers of degree colleges who were selected in 2007 by the commission. The commission made a provision of experience for the appointment of teachers in degree colleges. The full Bench observed that commission had no power to include experience in the selection of teachers.
