Election Commission has issued notice to UP Minister Gayatri Prajapati following the seizure of over four thousand sarees in Fatehpur on 11th of this month. Mr. Prajapati's name has appeared as receiver of goods in the documents and the truck driver had confessed that the sarees were meant to be distributed in Minister's home turf Amethi during assembly elections. Terming the incident as prima facie violation of Model Code of Conduct, the Commission asked Mr. Prajapati to explain his position by 23rd of this month.
