UP demands Rs 400 crore from Centre to combat JE menace

Uttar Pradesh government has demanded 400 crore rupees from the Centre under the National Rural Health Mission to combat the Japanese Encephalitis menace in the state.Health Minister of the state Naseemuddin Siddiqui has said that a proposal has been sent to the centre in this regard.Addressing a meeting of senior officials of the department at Lucknow he has said that there are several measures which are to be taken from these funds including complete immunisation of all children in affected districts and arrangement of ventilators in all JE-affected district hospitals.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the state government has instructed the officials for preparing lists of all children who are to be immunised for JE.
