In Uttar Pradesh, several western districts have received heavy to moderate rainfall during the last 24 hours but the eastern parts largely remained dry. The State Government has announced special relief package to Bijnore district which was recently hit by flash flood.While most of the rivers in the eastern UP are on receding trend, the river Burhi Gandak is putting pressure on Pipra-Piprasi embankment on UP-Bihar border in Kushinagar district. The nearby population is being shifted to safer places. The heavy rain in Saharanpur and adjoining districts has raised the water level of rivers. The met office has predicted more rain in the western area and light shower in eastern UP.
