In Uttar Pradesh, newly elected members of State Congress Committee today authorised party chief Sonia Gandhi to nominate state congress president as per her choice . AIR Lucknow correspondent reports first meeting of all newly elected member of Pradesh Congress Committee was held at party headquarter in Lucknow to elect the president of state unit of party. Congress Legislature Party leader Pramod Tiwari and present UPPCS president Dr. Rita Bahuguna Joshi moved the resolutions separately for Mrs. Sonia Gandhi's authorisation which were accepted unanimously. Meeting was presided over by the national General Secretary of the party and in charge of state party affairs Digvijay Singh and most of the senior party leaders of the state were present. Party MP Jagdambika Pal told our correspondent this resolution would strengthen the party in the state and party workers would be activated for struggle against alleged misdeeds of Mayawati Government.
