UP cold wave continues unabated

In UP, the cold wave continues unabated as mercury remains 7 to 10 degrees below normal across the state. Foggy condition this morning disrupted road and rail traffic.

There is mild sunshine in some districts of Varanasi and Allahabad divisions but the chilly wind has made the situation worse.

At least 6 people have lost their lives during past twenty four hours due to intense cold. These include two each in Ghazipur, Mirzapur and Jaunpur.

Meanwhile, the north eastern railway has cancelled some more passenger trains due to foggy condition. Gorakhpur – Kanpur Chauri-Chaura express will now be restricted to Allahabad till foggy condition prevails.
