Uttar Pradesh Chief minister has ruled out the role of FDI in retail in the state. Addressing the news conference in Lucknow he said that the policy will be not be implemented in the state, even if the centre adopts it. Akhilesh Yadav however said his government welcomes FDI in other critical sectors like power and infrastructure. Denying any move to withdraw out side support to the UPA government, he said that any decision in this regard will be taken by the Samajwadi party president Mulayam Singh Yadav. Mr Akhilesh Yadav said the bigger priority of his party is to keep the communal forces out.
