On the occasion of Nagpanchami today, a large number of people are taking dip in Ganga and other holy rivers and offering their prayers to lord Shiva and snake god -Nagdevta. A large number of devotees took holy dip at Sangam in Allahabad in the morning and reached the snake temple Nagvasuki for prayers. In Varanasi, thousands of people are reaching Various Ghats of Ganga for a holy dip since morning. Devotees are also visiting various temples including Kashivishwanath and Nagkuan to offer their prayers. In Ayodhya, people gathered at the bank of Saryu River for bathing and special Nagpanchmi worship at Nageshwar nath temple. Sawan fairs are also being organised in Ayodhya and Varanasi on this occasion. Traditional wrestling competitions are also being organised in Varanasi today.
