UP: Campaigning for 14 LS seats ends this evening, polls on April 30

In Uttar Pradesh, campaigning in 14 constituencies of Dhaurahara, Sitapur, Mishrikh, Unnao, Mohanlalganj, Lucknow, Raebareli, Kanpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Hamirpur, Banda, Fatehpur and Barabanki going for voting on April 30 comes to an end this evening.

AIR Correspondent reports that 232 candidates are in the fray. Maximum 29 candidates are in Lucknow constituency.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi and BJP President Rajnath Singh, Union Misters Sriprakash Jaiswal, Pradeep Jain Aditya and Jitin Prasad, senior BJP leaders Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti, Congress leader Rita Bahuguna Joshi, sitting MPs Annu Tandon, Rakesh Sachan, Brajesh Pathak and Ghanshyam Anuragi, Chairman of National Commission for Schedule Castes PL Punia and actor turn politician Javed Zafri are among the contests The ruling Samajwadi Party has not fielded its nominees from Raebareli and Amethi constituencies against Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

Most of the major political parties have not left any stone unturned to woo the voters for their party candidates. BJP leader Narendra Modi, SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav, BSP Supremo Mayawati and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal have addressed several public meetings and election rallies in different constituencies.

Congress's star campaigner Priyanka Gandhi has campaigned in Raebareli constituency on day today basis. In the last leg of campaigning for this phase, BJP leader Narendra addressed six election rallies on Sunday at Jhansi, Mahoba, Fatehpur, Unnao, Sitapur and Mohanlalganj constituencies.

BJP president Rajnath Singh has conducted road show in his constituency at Lucknow.

Due to a family tragedy Samajwadi Party leaders including party President Mulayam Singh Yadav and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had postponed their election rallies on Sunday but they have hectic schedule in different segments.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will be addressing an election rally today in Hamirpur in Bundelkhand region.
