In Uttar Pradesh the budget session of the State legislature will begin on Thursday. Earlier it was called on 28th of this month. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the Governor Mr. BL Joshi will address the joint sitting of both the houses of legislature on the opening day of first session of the Legislature this year. Budget proposals for the next financial year would be passed during the session. The assembly was adjourned sine die on August 6 last year and it is mandatory for the government to convene the assembly within six months.<br/><br/>Meanwhile ruling Bahujan Samaj Party has nominated its MLC Mr. Ganesh Shankar Pandey as its candidate for the post of Chairman of Legislative Council. Mr. Pandey today filed his nomination. Mr. Pandey was elected for the house fourth times in recently held biennial elections of the upper house. The outgoing Chairman Dr. Sukhram Singh Yadav from Samajwadi Party has completed its term on the 15th of this month. <br/>
