In the back drop of continuing agitation of farmers, the Uttar Pradesh Government has decided that if the farmers did not want township, it will not be set up at Tappal in Aligarh. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that farmers’ hunger strike demanding enhancement in compensation for the land acquired for Yamuna Expressway project is still continuing. Agitated farmers at Aligarh and Agra have already announced that they will not surrender their land for township projects. The State Government, in its bid to resolve the continuing farmer’s agitation, announced a new policy for land acquisition.
