The Uttar Pradesh Bar Council has given a boycott call tomorrow in protest against the police lathi charge on advocates in Kanpur recently. <br/><br/>Bar Council Secretary Mr P N Tyagi told our Lucknow correspondent that a decision to this effect was taken after a fact-finding team, sent to Kanpur to take stock of the situation, submitted its report.<br/><br/>The report alleged apathy and utter high-handedness on part of the administration.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that at least 24 people were injured and many vehicles damaged in the clash that broke out on last Wednesday at the Kanpur district court complex. <br/><br/>Some lawyers allegedly misbehaved with a police inspector who had come from Kannauj in connection with a case. The state government has already announced to conduct judicial inquiry into the incident.
