UP bans functions to welcome or condemn Liberhan report

In Uttar Pradesh the government has banned staging of any kind of function either to welcome or condemn Liberhan Commission report on the demolition of disputed structure at Ayodhya. In Ayodhya security forces and civil administration has been kept on high alert.<br/><br/>Additional Director General Law and order Mr. A.K. Jain has said that with a view to prevent any untoward incident following tabling of the report in the Parliament the government has taken this decision. He has said that joint patrolling by magistrates and police officers were also being undertaken at all sensitive places. He has said that strict action would be taken against anyone trying to exploit the situation to spoil communal amity across the state especially in Ayodhya and Faizabad.<br/><br/>Senior Superintendent of Police Faizabad Mr. RKS Rathore has said that the central forces deployed on the disputed site along with PAC commandos have been alerted and Special Operation Group members and local intelligence unit persons have also been stationed in strength over all the red and yellow security zones in the Ayodhya town which saw the demolition of the disputed structure 17 years ago. Para-military forces and Provincial Armed Constabulary have started security drills in the temple town. Close circuit TV cameras installed at places to keep a watch on the situation throughout Ayodhya.<br/>
