Uttar Pradesh attempted for a unique record today by planting saplings of 240 tree species within an hour. The aim was to make a new record and conserve some of the native species once found in abundance but are now rarely spotted.<br />''<span style="font-weight: bold;"> <br />''</span>The state forest department worked on this unique plantation drive across eight districts, today. At least 12 saplings each of the 240 species were planted during the hour and overall 2880 saplings were plantes. Each of the eight participating districts got a minimum of 30 species in a bid to conserve the biodiversity of state.<br />''<br />''The participating districts included Gautam Budh Nagar, Meerut, Barabanki, Lucknow, Banda, Sitapur, Faizabad and chitrakoot.<br />''<br />'' Chief Conservator Forest of the State Mukesh Kumar said that while attempting for the record, strict adherence to the social distancing was followed. He said that documents related to the record will be sent to the office of Guinness book of world records.<br />
