The UP Assembly has passed the proposal for splitting the state in four parts by a voice vote. Earlier, both Houses of the State legislature were adjourned today amidst noisy scenes by the Opposition members, even as the SP moved a no-confidence motion against the state government.In the Legislative Assembly, BJP members jumped into the well, while SP MLAs raised slogans and displayed placards demanding dismissal of the BSP government immediately after the proceedings of the house started at 11 am following which Speaker Sukdeo Rajbhar adjourned the house till 12.30 pm.Deputy leader of SP Legislative Party Ambika Chaudhary said the party has moved no-confidence motion against the government.He said that it was unfortunate that the Chief Minister was not present in the House on the first day of the winter session. Proceedings were adjourned in the Legislative Council also amidst pandemonium by the opposition members, who were demanding presence of former cabinet minister Babu Singh Kushwaha in the House.Kushwaha, a BSP member of the Legislative Council, had sparked a controversy by writing a letter to Chief Minister Mayawati alleging threat to his life from his party colleagues and some bureaucrats.
