Uttar Pradesh assembly adjourned for more than one hour today on the first day of the monsoon session due to uproarious scenes by some opposition parties. Our Lucknow correspondent reports that, as soon as the house assembled, entire opposition raised issues of law and order, alleged scam in National Rural Health Mission in the state, killing of 3 senior medical officers and forced civil land acquisition. Bhartiya Janata Party members trooped into the well raising slogans while other opposition members were on their feet. The Speaker Mr. Sukhdev Rajbhar tried to pacify the members but it was not headed, forcing the adjournment of the house. Chief Minister Mayawati was present in the beginning but she left the house when opposition members tried to raise these issues.
