In Uttar Pradesh the government has decided to revive the provision of anticipatory bail with certain amendments. It was decided in the meeting of state cabinet held in Lucknow today chaired by Chief Minister Mayawati.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that the government had set up a committee under chairmanship of BSP Member Parliament Satish Chandra Misra in May this year to suggest government to revive the provision for granting anticipatory bail in courts in the state, which was abolished in 1976.The Advocate General of the state Mr. Jyotindra Nath Mishra, Principal Secretaries of Home, Law and Parliamentary Affairs departments and Director General of Police were members of the committee. Secretary Home was Convener Member of this Committee. This committee had also recommended for revival of provisions of anticipatory bail with some conditions.
