In Uttar Pradesh, 60.39 percent of polling has been recorded in 10 constituencies till 5 PM. The constituencies are Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnore, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagger, Bulandshahr and Aligarh. Polling started at 7 in morning and continued till 6 in the evening.

Quoting the Election Commission sources AIR correspondent reports that maximum 68.40 percent polling is reported from Saharanpur seat followed by 64.90 percent in Kairana constituency, 63.53 in Muzaffarnagar and 62.96 percent in Bijnore. Minimum 51.60 percent voting has been recorded at Bulandshahr constituency seat. Aligarh has polled 55.60, Gautam Buddha Nagger 57.20, Ghaziabad 57.42 percent and Meerut has recorded 60.50 percent voting. In Baghpat, where RLD leader Ajit Singh is in contesting, has polled 61.52 percent votes.

AIR correspondent reports that long queues of electorates are still being witnessed at several polling centres in different constituencies. A total of 146 candidates including 14 women are in fray.
