Amidst outrage over the gangrape of two Dalit sisters in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today ordered the police to arrest all the accused immediately and said a fast-track court be constituted to ensure that they were duly punished. He termed the alleged gangrape and murder of the two teenage Dalit girls as unfortunate.
Meanwhile, Suprintedent of police Atul Kumar Saxena said of the seven wanted in the case, three policeman been arrested so far. He added that the services of two constables have been terminated.
In Delhi, union Home Minister Rajnath Singh was briefed by officials on the outrageous incident, reports PTI.
Even as the case grabbed headlines, another teenage Dalit girl was allegedly gangraped by four persons in in Saraimeer area of Azamgarh district.
Police said an FIR has been lodged in this connection and the hunt is on to nab the four accused.
