In Uttar Pradesh, 28 nomination papers have been filed today for first phase of assembly elections. 55 constituencies spread over ten districts of Awadh and Eastern regions of the state are going for poll in this phase.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that nine candidates from the ruling BSP, four from SP, three from BJP and two from Congress filed nominations today.Two candidates had filed their nominations yesterday. State Governor B L Joshi had issued notification for this phase of elections on Thursday. Polling will take place in these constituencies on 8th of next month.
