In Uttar Pradesh, around 150 cases for violation of model code of conduct have been lodged since the announcement of Assembly elections.Authorities have also seized cash worth Rs 44 lakhs from Meerut, Bulandshahr and Moradabad districts.In Rae Bareli district, a notice has been served to the State President of ruling BSP and senior minister Swami Prasad Maurya for violating model code of conduct during electioneering for his son.The case pertaining to derogatory remarks made by Energy Minister Ramveer Upadhyaya against Lokayukta NK Mehrotra has been referred to the Election Commission.
