In UP, ten more children have succumbed to deadly encephalitis during past 36 hours in BRD Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur. With this, the total death toll due to Japanese and other forms of Encephalitis has mounted to 465 this year.AIR Gorakhpur correspondent reports over 2950 encephalitis patients have been admitted this year in different government hospitals. Over 321 encephalitis patients are being treated in various government hospitals of the region.Meanwhile, the state government has decided to launch another round of Japanese Encephalitis Vaccination Campaign in the affected districts.The state Director General (Health) Ramji Lal said in Gorakhpur that the upper age limit for vaccination has been increased to 25 years. Till now, children up to 15 years were being administered JE vaccine.
