UNSG warns supporters of incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo of Ivory Coast

The United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon has warned supporters of the incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo of Ivory Coast against attacking the headquarters of his rival, Alassane Quattara. Mr. Quattara has been internationally recognised as the winner of November presidential election. He is being protected by UN peace keepers at a hotel in Abidjan. Mr. Ban said, the UN would use all necessary means to protect him. He warned, the attack could provoke widespread violence in the country and reignite civil war.
