UNSC members clear on existence of terror safe havens in Pak: Afghan envoy

Afghanistan's Ambassador to the United Nations, Mahmoud Saikal has said, there is unanimity more than ever and clarity among Security Council members about the presence of terrorist safe havens in Pakistan. <br/><br/>In an interview to news agency PTI, Mr Saikal said, the Afghan government has provided evidence to the Council about the violations of its resolution by Pakistan. <br/><br/>He said, Pakistan has been unsuccessfully trying to change the narrative in the past couple of years, but there are no takers for the arguments either at the UN or other international forums. <br/><br/>Mr Saikal said Afghanistan has every right to defend its people, raise its voice at international platforms and seek support from relevant international bodies when it comes to improving the security and stability in the country.<br/><br/>The comments of the top Afghanistan envoy to the world body come days after an ambassadorial-level of a delegation of the Security Council returned from a trip to Kabul.<br/><br/>
