Tension is high on the Israel Lebanon border after clashes that left five people including one Israeli and three Lebanese soldiers and one Lebanese journalist dead. The UN Security Council has urged Israel and Lebanon to show utmost restraint after a clash between troops on the border. In a statement, the UN urged both sides to abide by the deal that ended 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah. The leader of Hezbollah, who maintains his separate fighters in Lebanon has said its fighters will not stand idle in case of more clashes. While Lebanese army blamed that Israeli soldiers crossed the border, Israel denied crossing the border and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would respond aggressively to any attack. UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon say they have seen no evidence that Israeli soldiers had crossed into Lebanon.
