Unprecedented security measures for PM Modi's rally in Srinagar tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Jammu & Kashmir tomorrow. He is scheduled to address a public rally at Sher e Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar. This will be PM Modi's first rally in Valley after Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and BJP alliance assumed power in the state on 1st March this year. Unprecedented security arrangements have already been put in place across Kashmir valley and Srinagar in particular to prevent any untoward incident ahead of PM Modi's public rally tomorrow. <br/><br/>The State govt have taken stringent measures to disallow parallel 'Srinagar Million March' called by Syed Ali Geelani tomorrow that is supported by Mirwaiz Hurriyat, JKLF, militant organizations, High Court Bar Association Kashmir and other separatists. All prominent separatist leaders besides few hundred 2nd rung leaders, former militants and other separatist workforce have been either put under house detention or taken into preventive custody during past one week. <br/><br/>Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has been consistently saying that Prime Minister's visit will be a turning point in the history of J&K. However, opposition accused state govt of anti people policies and sabotaging the spirit of battle of ideas in a democracy by massively cracking down on separatists and other dissenters. Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today accused state govt of misusing official machinery including Police to make Prime Minister's rally a success.
