In Iraq, eight people were killed and 12 others wounded in the attack on jewellery stores in Kirkuk on Tuesday evening. According to Voice of Iraq news agency, unknown gunmen attacked a jewellery market in Atlas Street, opened fire randomly on citizens and threw hand grenades. The killed include four policemen while two of policemen were among injured. Armed heists on jewellery shops have been on the rise in Iraq. Earlier this month, gunmen stormed three Baghdad jewelry stores and clashed with security forces, leaving seven people dead.
