UN says, at least 10,000 people were killed and over 40,000 people injured in Yemen since the conflict between the Houthis and the Government escalated in March 2015. UN humanitarian co-ordinator for Yemen, Jamie McGoldrick, after meeting Yeamani President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi said in Aden that the death toll underscores the need to resolve the situation. He said, millions of people living in areas directly affected by the fighting, are facing food shortages. The UN lists the conflict in Yemen as one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
