Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday sought united efforts from all stakeholders to improve security of women, saying sincere initiatives are needed to make the fair sex feel safe in the city.Addressing a function as part of celebration of International Women's day on Tuesday, she said, civil society as well as various NGOs have to play a key role in helping government improve security for women in the city. Expressing her government's strong commitment to welfare of women from all section, she said sincere efforts were on to ensure social, economic and political empowerment of the fair sex. Mrs. Dikshit informed that government is working on a new scheme under which a platform to market various products such handloom and handicrafts items will be provided to women entrepreneurs. The Chief Minister also distributed awards to women entrepreneurs at the function.
