The ambitious scheme of providing Unique Identity Number to the citizens will be launched today with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh handing over first such card at a function at Shahada in the tribal district of Nandurbar in Maharashtra. The UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi will also attend the function to roll out the 'Aadhaar' scheme along with Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Chairman of the Unique Identity Development Authority of India Nandan Nilekani.
