The 10th edition of Auto Expo in New Delhi has been formally inaugurated on Wednesday evening by the Union Road transport Minister, Mr Kamal Nath. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Motor Vehicle Act will be reviewed very soon to comply with the passengers security norms. He also said that the safety regulations will be aligned at par with international standards.The biennial event Auto Expo 2010 saw launching of several heavy power luxury passenger buses , small and concept cars. Our correspondent reports all the International and domestic vehicle manufactures have come up with one or another version that suits the Indian consumer.With the promise of 7.5 kilometers of road a day by the government in the current year, On Wednesday, it seemed to be a war of trucks in the Auto Expo. Be it Volvo, Hundai, Mahindra, Tata or Mercedes – Benz, everyone is ready with their vehilce to run on the Indian Roads. Costs range from 85 lakhs to moderate ones for the luxury coaches. Almost all the International manufactures are eyeing the potential market in Indian to turn it into a manufacturing hub as well as distribution point. In the small cars category following Nano's launch last Expo, Volkswagen has come up with its made-in-India Polo , while one can see a one crore rupee version of Tata's Nano. Maruti Suzuki small concept cars has become a show stopper. Organiser are expecting heavy foot falls in coming days and a huge business expansion.
