In Kargil of Ladakh Union territory, the Union Tourism Minister Mr Prahlad Singh Patel has inaugurated a branch of Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM) today. The Minister participated in various events to celebrate the National Tourism Day with National Events of Adventure Tourism, (NEAT) in Kargil district. <br />'' <br />'' Speaking on the occasion at Linkipal Ski Slopes at Pashkum in Kargil, Minister Prahlad Singh said, the Union Government is taking all measures to encourage adventure sports and snow based winter games in the region. He said, till now outside sportspersons who are using the natural advantages are supporting local talent. <br />'' <br />'' But now the efforts are on for sports development at various levels and the Government's efforts have become instrumental in supporting the local talent by all means of infrastructure and training in the sporting field. <br />'' <br />'' He hoped that ice hockey could be possible at many places in Ladakh region. With government efforts, Mr. Prahlad patel said, soon Ladakh region will produce international level players. <br />'' <br />'' Kargil Hill Council CEC Mr. Feroz Ahmed Khan, DC Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary also present in the events.<br />
