<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar today said that central government is working on a Digital India Act, which will incorporate new rules for stopping internet-aided circulation of illegal, criminal and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), while covering online gaming as well. He was addressing the National Conference on Child Sexual Abuse Material organized by the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC, in New Delhi.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;"><br />''</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">The Minister said, the existing Information Technology Act does not address the challenges of the present times.&nbsp; Hence, the government formed the IT Rules, 2021 and amended them in 2022 to make the intermediaries liable. He said, the government is also proposing to bring a digital technology law. Mr Chandrasekhar said that the government is committed to encourage the use of the internet as a tool for people's empowerment, while making it safe and trusted.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">On the occasion, NHRC Chairperson, Justice Arun Mishra said that action is required to prevent and address the problem of Child Sexual Abuse Material. He said, POCSO and IT Acts do not cover all forms of CSAM, such as animated and gaming material.&nbsp;</span></p>
