Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Bisheshwar Tudu today reviewed the schemes related to the ministry, schemes run under the Aspirational District Program and other public welfare schemes run by the central government. Mr Tudu was on a day-long visit to Garhwa district in Jharkhand.<br />''<br />''The Minister reviewed the plan to supply water to every household through taps under Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that by the end of year 2024, about 3 lakh houses in the district will be covered with pure drinking water supply through tap water, while 14 percent work under the target has been completed in the district. Mr Tudu said that the construction of ponds under Amrit Sarovar Yojana should be completed, after identification of 75 ponds in the district. Addressing the media, he asked the Deputy Commissioner to complete the ongoing tribal welfare schemes in the district. On this occasion, he also said that NGOs can play a pivotal role in taking the public utility schemes of the government to the last person.
