Union Minister of State for Home Jitendra Singh arrived in Kohima this morning on a two-day visit to the state. The Minister was briefed on the prevailing situation of the state by Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) Major General B. Das. Later the Minister took stock of the operational preparedness of the Assam Rifles and interacted with the troops Longwa in Mon District . He also visited the International Trade center at Longwa and interacted with the District Administration and Civil Societies. Mr. Singh called on the Chief Minister of Nagaland. Addressing a gathering at a dinner party hosted in his honour by IGAR (North), the Union Minister congratulated the State Government Machineries, the Assam Rifles for maintaining peace and tranquility in the State and also wished for a lasting peace and prosperity for the people.
