Union Minister Uma Bharti urges people to conserve water in view of summers

Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti has urged people to conserve more water in view of summers.<br/><br/>Addressing India Water Week-2016 in New Delhi today, Ms Bharti said, efficient utilisation of water resources is a matter of great importance.<br/><br/>The Minister said, there is an urgency to conserve and utilise the limited availability of water resources in an optimum and efficient manner.<br/><br/>Ms. Bharti said, enhancing water literacy and recycling of the natural elixir is required. The Minister said, inter-linking of rivers is on the agenda.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, investment in irrigation is fruitful and gives immediate results.<br/><br/>He said, poor performance of agriculture sector due to deficient rainfall have also impacted service and manufacturing sectors.<br/><br/>He said, the growth of the agri sector is must for country's economic growth.<br/>The theme of this year's water week is Water for All: Striving Together.
