Union Minister Smriti Irani says Government is committed to protect the self-respect of women

Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani today said that the Union Government is committed to protect the self-respect of women. Delivering her address in Mumbai at the Fourth Zonal Workshop organized on four points namely Mission Poshan, Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya and Saksham Anganwadi.<br />''<br />''She said that it is for the first time that the Prime Minister of the country has talked about the menstruation health of women from the ramparts of the Red Fort which shows that matters related to women are the priority of the present government.<br />''<br />''The Minister informed about the proposals received from various states while announcing the One Stop Centre for women's safety. She said that in the current budget, there has been an increase of 14 percent fund for Women and Child Development and this is for the first time which will ensure that more funds are provided to the states.<br />''<br />''He said that 11 crore new toilets were built by the Modi Government and more than six lakh villages were made  Open Defecation Free.<br />''<br />''Citing a 2011 World Bank report, she said that about 6.30 percent of GDP loss is due to dirt, which was said in the World Bank report. As soon as Prime Minister Narendra Modi took over the charge, it was announced that every day will be started with cleanliness and under this concept Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan was started.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Today, this campaign is going on in full swing across the country. Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur and other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion. </span><br />
