<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that Assam could represent itself in the national and global stage due to Swargadeo Saulung Sukapha's vision for a great Assamese society.<br />'' <br />'' Paying homage to Sukapha on the occasion of Assam Day in New Delhi on Friday, Mr Sonowal recalled his contributions in unifying the various communities for a greater Assamese society which is the cornerstone of their identity.<br />'' <br />'' Assam celebrates second December as Sukapha Divas or Assam Divas to commemorate the arrival of Sukapha in Assam, who went on to become the founder of the Ahom kingdom.<br />'' <br />''He said that under Sukapha's stewardship, the Assamese society became Atmanirbhar and started manufacturing various weapons, tools, and goods to build an invincible military power. Terming Sukapha as a symbol of unity, good governance, and bravery, the Minister urged every Assamese to draw inspiration from him.</span><br />
