Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal emphasises setting up WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar, Gujrat

Union Minister for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy, AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal today said that India is now a global leader in traditional medicine. He emphasised that setting up of WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar in Gujrat is a recognition of the country's leadership role in propagation of ancient values, wisdom and heritage.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">He was speaking in Bengaluru today at the inaugural session of International Conference on Exploring Consciousness from Non-Duality to Non-Locality organised in NIMHANS. <br />''<br />''The Ayush minister stressed that his ministry has taken several initiatives to mainstream traditional healing methods and medication. Under the National AYUSH Mission, research is encouraged, raw materials for traditional medicines are promoted and the youngsters are encouraged to study traditional medicines. <br />''<br />''Saying that there is a need to strike a balance between the Economy and Environment and Humanity and Advance technology, the minister stressed that ultimately the long-term welfare of Humanity matters.</span><br />
