<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Raosaheb Patil Danve today visited the country's largest Silos (steel storehouse) having a total capacity of two lakh metric tonnes (MTs) situated in Dagru village in Moga district. The Silos owned by the Adani Agri-Logistics Limited is with an agreement with the Food Corporation of India (FCI) to store, purchase and distribute the wheat stock.<br />''  <br />'' The Minister accompanied by General Manager of Food Corporation of India Arshdeep Singh Thind reviewed and hailed the advanced technology of the project, which needs negligible labour in the process from picking, sampling, checking food quality, storing and distribution of the wheat grains in bulk quantity.<br />'' <br />'' Vice President of Adani Group Silos Puneet Mehandiratta, while giving brief about the project, said that farmers can directly sell their crop here in just two-three hours which includes the process of picking crop from a trolley, sampling them, checking for quality to store them. He said that after purchasing the crop the payment as per the Minimum Support Price (MSP) given to the farmer within 72 hours. He also said, the major beneficiary of this project is the farmer who doesn't need to spend on handling and cleaning of the crop. Besides, this process saves a lot of time as compared to the conventional system of selling crops in the grain market. The project is also proving beneficial for the government as it saves the huge expenditure being spent on gunny bags apart from saving transportation cost as the stored grains are being transported in specially designed top loading and bottom discharge wagons of the train in the different states of the country.<br />'' <br />'' Later, speaking to the media persons in Amritsar, the Minister of State Raosaheb Patil Danve said that the Centre will launch a new scheme One Country, One Ration Card all over the country soon. He said, so far twelve clusters have been set up in the country for its implementation.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Danve further said that the existing ration cards under the scheme would be valid all over the country and on migration to other places, there will be no need to get a new ration card.<br />'' <br />''<br />''Talking about his meeting with the officers of procurement agencies of Punjab, he said, he had a discussion with the officers about procurement and storage of food grains.</span><br />
