Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that Defence Accounts Department ( DAD) plays an important role in nation-building. Mr Singh said, defence ministry has been allocated 5.25 lakh crore rupees in this year budget. He highlighted how defence accounts department meticulously spends the money. Mr Singh lauded SPARSH ( System for Pension Administration Raksha for Defence Civilians and their families ) project for its user-friendly nature. Rajnath Singh listed the steps taken to encourage the private sector, including earmarking 68 percent of capital procurement budget for the domestic industry in 2022-23.
