Union minister Purushotam Rupala in Jaipur to review situation of lumpy skin disease spreading among cattle in Rajasthan

Union minister for Animal Husbandry  and Dairies Purushotam Rupala is on a visit to Jaipur today. He will review the situation of lumpy skin disease spreading among cattle in Rajasthan.  Animal Husbandry Minister of the state Lalchand Kataria, Chief Secretary Usha Sharma and senior officials of Animal Husbandry Department will  be present in a high-level meeting scheduled at the State Secretariat.<br />''<br />''AIR Correspondent reports that lumpy disease is spreading rapidly in the state and more than eight thousand cattles have died so far. More than one lakh 60 thousand cattles have been infected with lumpy skin disease in the state. Out of these, about 54 thousand cattles have been recovered. The infection has spread in 17 districts of the state, but Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jalore, Bikaner, Churu, Ganganagar and Nagaur districts are more affected. All cattle fairs have been cancelled  in the state .  District collectors have been directed to deal with this disease on a war footing. The central government has approved Rupees 9 crore for vaccination of cattles to reduce the impact of this disease. <br />
