The Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik inaugurated a new Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities at Takyel in Imphal on Monday.<br />''<br />''Speaking at the inaugural function, Ms. Bhoumik said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is implementing various welfare schemes for Persons with Disabilities in the country. The government distributed identity cards to the Persons with Disabilities and those card holders are being provided benefits under different schemes.<br />''<br />'' She said that the newly inaugurated CRC at Imphal will provide artificial or prosthetic arm and leg to those needy persons without any cost. The expenditure incurred in the process will be bear by the government. Moreover, health check-up will be held with a view to identify deaf and mute children for further treatment.<br />''<br />''The Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr. R.K. Ranjan, who hails from Manipur State, appreciated the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for opening a new CRC in Manipur.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Ms. Bhoumik also inaugurated a camp for distribution of aids and assistive devices to Persons with Disabilities.</span><br />
