Union Minister Piyush Goyal says India's non-basmati rice exports have witnessed an astounding growth of 109 percent

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that India's non-basmati rice exports have witnessed an astounding growth of 109 percent. He said, Narendra Modi government's policies are helping farmers in getting access to the global market and ensuring food security.

As per Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics, DGCIS data, the exports of non-basmati rice has reached to six thousand one hundred and fifteen million US dollar in 2021-22 from two thousand 925 million US dollar in 2013-14. India has exported rice to over one hundred fifty countries across the globe in the last financial year.

The major rice-producing states are West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Assam, and Haryana.
