Union Minister of State for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy and Mines Piyush Goyal today launched a satellite based Mining Surveillance System (MSS) in New Delhi. It will help curb illegal mining activity in the country. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion Mr Goyal said, the app will add to the level of transparency the current government is committed to and it will also ensure that illegal mining becomes history. <br/><br/>The MSS is a public app that checks a region of 500 meter around the existing mining lease area and reports on unauthorized mining. <br/><br/>The Minister said, there is a scope for doubling the mining production in the next 3 to 5 years. He said the government has given momentous to exploration work to boost mining.
