Union Minister Parasottam Rupala, Gujarat CM flag off first batch of 25 centrally sponsored mobile Veterinary units from Gandhinagar

Union Minister of Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Parasottam Rupala, and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel flagged off the first batch of 25 centrally sponsored mobile Veterinary units from Gandhinagar on Friday. Nearly 565 cattle breeders who have done remarkable work in the field of cattle breeding were awarded on the occasion.<br />''  <br />'' Addressing the cattle rearers, Mr. Rupala said the dairy sector contributes over 10 lakh crore rupees to Indian economy which is larger than the gross production of wheat and rice. Mr. Rupala said the Animal Husbandry sector is growing in the country and in near future there are wide opportunities for the Indian cattle reares at global level. The minister added that the mobile Veterinary unit is originally the initiative of Government of Gujarat which has been replicated all over the country. He said the new 24 mobile Veterinary unit will not only ensure the doorstep treatment to the cattle but will also boost the artificial insemination programme. <br />''  <br />'' Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reiterated his government's commitment for the economic upliftment of the cattle rearers and urged them to adopt cow based natural farming.
