Union Minister of State for I&B L Murugan to pay obeisance at Tiruketheeswaram temple in Sri Lanka

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, L Murugan will pay obeisance at the historic Tiruketheeswaram temple in Sri Lanka today. He will visit various sites that underline the scale and extent of Government of India's people-centric development partnership in Sri Lanka. In addition he will oversee distribution of assistance to needy families.<br />''<br />''Mr Murugan reached Jaffna yesterday as part of his three day visit to the Island Nation. He visited Kankesanthurai Port which will be connected through passenger ferry services to Puducherry soon. He also paid his respects at the bust of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam at India Corner in Jaffna public Library.<br />''<br />''The Minister discussed the issue of fishermen with Sri Lankan Minister for Fisheries Douglas Devananda. He emphasised that it is a humanitarian matter which pertains to their livelihood.<br />''<br />''Tomorrow, Mr. Murugan will attend the inauguration of the Jaffna Cultural Center. The Center was built under Indian grant assistance. The Prime Minister had laid the foundation stone for the Centre in March 2015. This state-of-the-art facility consists of multiple facilities such as a museum of two floors, an advanced theater style auditorium for more than 600 people, a 11-storeyed learning tower and a public square which could also act as an amphitheater.</span><br />
