Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh has appealed to farmers to adopt organic farming in a scientific manner. <br/><br/>He was speaking after inaugurating three-day Regional Agriculture Fare at Central Island Agriculture Research Institute in Port Blair on Thursday. <br/>AIR correspondent reports, Agriculture Minister said that the blue revolution has integrated many scheme for the benefits of the farmers and fishing community. <br/><br/>Subsidy Schemes are introduced for the purchase of fishing vessels so that the traditional fishermen can venture into deep sea fishing. <br/><br/>The Minister further said that the Government of India is promoting organic farming. <br/><br/>Sikkim has already achieved sent percent target and Meghalaya is on its way to achieve this. <br/><br/>Speaking about the various schemes being implemented by the Government the Agriculture Minister emphasised that animal husbandry, Poultry Farming and Fishi culture will be encouraged along with Agriculture. <br/><br/>Distribution of soil health card will be speeded up so that the soil health can be maintained and better production can be achieved. <br/><br/>The Minister expressed hope that with the change in the condition of the villages the country will definitely change.
