Union Minister Nityanand Rai addresses 3rd National Conference of Heads of Investigative Agencies in Jaipur

Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has said with the changing nature of crime, the use of the latest techniques has become necessary for the police.<br />''<br />''Addressing the function after inaugurating the 3rd National Conference of Heads of Investigative Agencies in Jaipur this morning, January 5, Mr. Rai said that said it is the need of the hour to strengthen the police intellectually, physically, and organizationally and transform it into a smart force. <br />''<br />''Mr. Rai said the Centre is constantly making efforts to modernize the police.  He disclosed that the government has approved the umbrella scheme of more than 26 thousand crores for the years 2021 to 2026  for this purpose.  <br />''<br />''The two-day conference in Jaipur will emphasise on issues including the latest laws, judgments, and their implications on investigation and prosecution, various amendments in criminal law, latest techniques in forensic science.<br />''<br />''The conference, hosted by the Bureau of Police Research and Development, will conclude on Friday evening at 4.30 p.m.<br />
